Google Tag Manager and Adobe Analytics

We run several remarketing campaigns (via Google AdWords) and want to implement Google Tag Manager so we can have more control over our audience segments. However, we are also in the process of implementing Adobe Analytics. Our Adobe rep says we won't need Google Tag Manager because Adobe can do it all, so my question is this: Do we still need to implement Google Tag Manager (for our remarketing campaigns) or will Adobe Analytics make GTM unnecessary?

No, you don't need GTM and if you bought anything Adobe then DTM comes bundled as part of the cost, so you might as well leverage that.

The main reason here is you've already bought DTM if you're on Adobe Analytics. Whoever paid that bill essentially already made that decision for you. GTM as you might imagine being a Google product plays nicely with other Google services such as Google Analytics and Google Adwords. Building out basic audiences can be done in a non-technical manner in the GA interface itself, there isn't a need to write tags or change your implementation for remarketing.

Whatever you do, don't put both DTM and GTM on your site. That would defeat the purpose of a tag management system.
